Swiss International Trade Course

In July and August 2006 we will contribute to a high level programme addressing trade topics with a particular emphasis on trade practitioners in the filed. The event will take place in Switzerland and will be hosted by the renowned trade law school, the World Trade Institute.

This program has previously proven itself as an unparalleled forum for professionals and trade students to obtain a cutting-edge and comprehensive educational experience from some of the world’s top specialists in trade law and international economics. Participants from approximately 15 countries will be attending the event.

The attraction of the programme, which will cover dispute settlement, trade in agriculture and trade remedies, is that it is staffed by a host of international trade law practitioners operating at the leading edge of their fields. The practitioners involved will include:

Prof. Dr. Timothy Josling (Stanford University), Dr. Arthur Appleton (White & Case, Geneva), Hilton Zunckel (Floor Incorporated, Stellenbosch), Gary Horlick (Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, Washington DC) and Edwin Vermulst (Vermulst Verhaeghe & Graafsma, Brussels).

Hilton Zunckel will be making a specific contribution regarding the present stance of the WTO negotiations in agriculture and their relevance for African countries and the developing world.
